A Brief History

Doraha Public School ( DOPS ) was established by Sant Kartar Singh Kamaliawale Educational Society in the year 2008. The society derives inspiration from a great Saint, Sant Kartar Singh Ji Kamalia Wale. He is known for his lofty ideals, rich intellectual perception, unimpeachable devotion and selfless service to humanity. Sant Kartar Singh Ji, son of Sant Sangat Singh Ji lived in Patiala and carried forward his father’s ideals. He encouraged children to take up higher education and become self-reliant. Under his guidance many students in Patiala became doctors, teachers and administrators. To perpetuate his memory Sant Kartar Singh Kamalia Wale Educational Society was formed by an eminent group of educationists.

Doraha Public School got affiliated to C.B.S.E., New Delhi in 2009. The school was upgraded to Senior Secondary Level in 2011.

The same management runs three other educational institutions at Doraha – Sri Guru Harkrishan Public School, Doraha Institute of Management & Technology & Doraha College of Education.

Sri Guru Harkrishan Public School (SGHPS) was established in the year 1991 and is affiliated to Punjab School Education Board, Mohali. The school is the first English Medium school of the area.

Doraha Institute of Management & Technology (DIMT) was established in the year 2001 and is approved by AICTE, New Delhi & Affiliated to Punjab Technical University, Jalandhar. DIMT offers BCA, BBA, and MBA courses.

Doraha College of Education (DCE) was established in the year 2005. DCE is recognized by NCTE, New Delhi and is permanently affiliated to Panjab University, Chandigarh. It offers Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) course.
